Hello, when I first set up W10 LTSC version 1607 in 2018 it included airplane mode. After updating to 1809 and then 21H2, the feature was removed entirely—no button appears in the bottom-right menu or in the services section. In the radio management service there is still an option, but changing it to auto-run or restart doesn’t trigger anything. I attempted to update my Ethernet drivers, reset network settings, and even tried using the registry command you mentioned, but nothing changed. The airplane mode icon remains grayed out on the lock screen and isn’t clickable. It also disappears from the action center after login, and the button in the network section is missing. My guess is it might be linked to a third-party tool like "WinAero Tweaker," which can disable telemetry and other odd Windows behaviors. However, since you didn’t have that program installed before version 1809, it’s possible it had no effect. What steps could help restore the feature?
You asked if the PC had WiFi hardware. That explains why Airplane mode is usually active—it’s about stopping wireless signals. Without any wireless components, there’s nothing to disable, so it remains inactive. The system focuses on radio waves, not physical cables.
