I’ve experienced frequent crashes since yesterday, often triggered by the “critical_process_died” error. Sometimes other issues appear, such as Unexpected Store exceptions or Registry filter driver errors. These incidents are mostly isolated, though 90% involve critical processes. Crashes tend to occur specifically during gameplay. System specs: 5800x3D, 32GB RAM, 3080Ti, Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite, 1200W PSU, SSD1 WDS200T1X0E, SSD2 TS4TMTE250S. Operating system: Windows 11 x64. Steps I’ve tried: BIOS updated, Windows SFC scan, chkdsk run, no issues found. CrystalDiskMark and manufacturer diagnostics (WD, Transcend) all passed. Memory errors appeared in logs but were resolved by uninstalling a program from Add/Remove Programs. Disabled non-Windows startup services; this improved stability significantly. Previously, crashes happened within seconds of launching a game. I’ve installed fresh NVIDIA drivers via DDU and played for about an hour before another crash. A memory dump attempt didn’t progress beyond 0% and no DMP file was generated. Recently, my secondary NVMe drive vanished during a game. Likely caused by overheating—portable heater near the PC caused it. The drive disappeared from BIOS after a few hours, then reappeared. All hardware diagnostics so far indicate everything is normal. The drive is hard to access due to its placement behind a watercooled GPU. Any suggestions? SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip

I plan to restore the window by installing it again with fresh Windows installation files.

It might help to set up a partition on both your main and secondary drives. Then switch to the new partition for testing purposes. This way you can verify everything works before switching back.

At that stage it’s really about putting in the same amount of work to transfer everything from the OS to the secondary drive and then start brewing a cup of tea while you wait. Come back and reinstall Windows on the OS drive while you enjoy your tea.

After the latest setup, I didn’t notice any problems initially. Once more programs were added it began to repeat. I performed another clean install and almost everything worked without issues. Turning off XMP helped stabilize things. Now I can play for about half an hour before something goes wrong. Recent crashes stopped the game instead of causing a blue screen, though they still result in the screen going black (the meaning isn’t clear). I’ve attached some CrystalDiskInfo screenshots. It seems my secondary drive has many media/data integrity errors.

I'm curious if the issue is caused by temperature changes, at 54°C, and you're wondering what would happen if it were idle. That seems quite significant.
