I checked the link you shared. It guides you through resetting your media settings, but when I pressed F11 on the keyboard during startup, the USB device didn’t appear. I suspect I skipped a necessary step—take a moment and give it another try.

It seems one of the boot choices was USB, yet it was labeled differently and felt odd
