Hi, I installed Lubuntu 18.04 on a HP Thinclient T5740 using a USB stick. It worked with a VGA monitor, but not with the DisplayPort one. After rebooting, the boot menu shows up on the VGA monitor, but the DisplayPort monitor turns off and Lubuntu only uses the VGA. I attempted to install Xorg and manually enable DisplayPort, but it didn’t help. Can anyone assist in enabling the DisplayPort in Lubuntu?

The display only shows video with the DP connected, excluding the VGA.

When VGA is removed and the Displayport is linked it displays the boot menu, after which the screen shuts down.

The 5740 appears quite outdated, likely reverting to a simpler graphics setting upon startup. Have you explored a previous release of Lubuntu?

I've used it with Ubuntu 12.04 but it didn't detect the DP.

Linux generally faces issues with display settings, especially on Lubuntu. If you can't resolve the problem, consider purchasing a VGA to DP adapter.
