Hello, I'm starting my first computer build and ran into a problem with the BIOS. I've attached all the storage I want using the provided SATA cables, but they don't appear as bootable devices. I'm using an ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-Plus Wifi D4 board. I need to connect a 8TB Seagate Cuda drive, a 2TB Samsung SSD, and a Corsair 960GB NVMe card. I've followed the standard setup, checked the cables for any issues, and reviewed the manuals and forums. The motherboard recognizes them as storage, but I can't boot from them. I'm really hoping someone can help me out.

You didn’t boot from them, so did you set up an operating system? Are the storage devices recognized within your system? If they’re brand new and a fresh computer is being used, there won’t be any existing partitions. You’ll need to install an OS and then format those blank drives, giving them drive letters.

These are brand new units, never touched by an operating system. The goal was to make them ready bootable devices so the USB stick could run Windows 11.

I would use a different PC and prepare these new drives for compatibility with the system.

No, you're not installing Windows for the first time—this is your first time setting up a PC.

Is this the part where you choose a storage device for installing the operating system? When you reach that area, it appears empty and won’t let you select any drives.
