As you mentioned, my PC freezes and produces noise similar to static or buzzing sounds. This has occurred twice—once a week ago and recently a few hours ago. It doesn’t show a blue screen, but it restarts every time. The sound lasts about 10 seconds before stopping. I’m using XMP profile mode and have noticed the machine gets quite hot during Fortnite gameplay with high-epic graphics and RX 6700 X GPU. My CPU is a 13600KF and the cooler is an AK400 from Deepcool. I’ve heard it might not be enough cooling, though it isn’t overclocked. I’ve looked for others with the same problem but haven’t found a fix yet.
Initially, it seems like a memory problem might be the cause. I suggest running memtest if you haven’t already: https://www.memtest86.com/download.htm. Second, there could be an audio chipset or MB chipset error. Could you tell me what motherboard you’re using and its BIOS version? Third, what temperatures are you observing on your 13600kf? I’ll keep track of this and check if it stays above 80°C. That would suggest insufficient cooling. Fourth, if that doesn’t resolve the issue, try booting with a live Linux system or an installed image to identify any problems. If you don’t see issues there, it might point to a Windows-related problem. Edited April 20, 2023 by birdflyer Added another option...
First, I haven't tried a memtest second: the motherboard is an Aorus B660 with DDR4 BIOS version f21. It was the first game that crashed on it in the high seventies/forth. I don’t know how to do a live boot—I’ve never heard of it.
Run memtest to check stability. You’ll find plenty of guides online for performing it. Regarding your query, here’s the process for booting into Linux: if you want a temporary installation, just press “try Linux” after booting from the flash drive. Concerning your BIOS, it seems there were graphics problems with the RTX 30 series GPUs on this board, causing a blank screen during startup. An update to BIOS version F22 could resolve other related issues: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/...rt-dl-bios Your temperatures look normal, so performance should be adequate.
