My Synology NAS (DS1515+) isn't powering on at all. I suspect the power supply unit might be faulty, though it's possible the motherboard is affected. I've already completed the Paper Clip test successfully—when I connect the PSU to my NAS it remains inactive, and the fans on the PSU don’t start up. I need to recover a lot of data from the drives, but I’m unsure how to proceed. There are no visible signs indicating the motherboard is completely dead. I could purchase a replacement PSU to test (I don’t have one right now) and see if it works. By the way, the PSU model I have is a Delta Electronics, Inc. DPS-250AB-44B or a Synology 250W_3 (same unit), which has 24P+12P+8P. Thanks in advance. I believe you should contact Synology. It seems they might have issued a non-functional update. Please confirm.

I plan to reach out to Synology, though I've used it for years and it's remained stable until now, so I wouldn't consider it outdated right out of the box.

I don’t possess the same skills as Linus to handle this. It worked well in the evening, but the problem arose the next day.

Was es mit dem Stromstoß zu tun, und wurde es versehentlich mit der Hand berührt oder ausgeschaltet? Gibt es Lichtquellen innerhalb des Geräts, die sich aktiviert haben?

It doesn’t seem linked to a surge protector, but I’m unsure about any voltage spikes. If a surge existed, the power supply would likely fail, which would explain the failed paperclip test. This also doesn’t account for the successful test result.

I recommend reaching out to Synology via email. Their team regularly handles such matters.

Thank you for your assistance. Should I not find support from Synology or if their guidance doesn't work, I anticipate encountering further updates.

No device would have survived without a surge protector.
