Occasionally after launching Windows, my SSDs aren't visible. Both are M.2 WD Black units plugged directly into the motherboard, even before I began using them in RAID 0. They still won't appear until I restart. If I power off and then turn them back on later, it can happen again. I'm using a B550M Steel Legend with a 5600X and no other problems on the system.
And after resetting, restart the BIOS once. (Before you restart: After updating the BIOS, turn on the computer! Then proceed with the reset) To reset the BIOS: Power down the machine and disconnect it From the power source Open the computer case and remove the watch battery (typically found at the bottom right of the motherboard, slightly smaller than a U.S. Quarter and silver with engraving) Keep the POWER button pressed for 15-30 seconds, some systems will power on briefly before shutting down, which is a positive indication Reinstall the watch battery then connect your computer and turn it on, the BIOS should now be refreshed
I shared that earlier but got caught up in daily life. I believe my explanation appears in the bios, though it won’t show up on Windows itself. When I start my PC and enter the password, the SSD doesn’t appear until I restart within Windows. A full shutdown followed by restarting Windows might resolve the problem (note: I’m planning to update the BIOS to check).
I've refreshed the bios and it's taken three days now, still no changes. It seems to happen less often, but the problem remains.
