The Steam workshop downloads are very slow.
Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing slow Steam downloads, often around 12kbs or less. I've tried restarting Steam, updating my laptop, and changing the download settings, but it's still not fast enough. My system specs are: Intel® Core i9-14900HX, 32gb RAM at 5600hz, GPU is a mobile RTX 4080. The laptop is connected wirelessly.
Thanks.

Occasionally Steam accumulates downloads and becomes slow. Open settings, navigate to downloads, and empty the cache. Be aware that clearing the cache may force a new login. Consider how much space your SSD or hard drive has used for these downloads.
I removed the cache, but the Rimworld workshop download vanished. Can you figure out how to get Steam to download the workshop files again? Also, your laptop still has plenty of space left.
The cache clearing didn't help. I reinstalled Rimworld and downloaded the mods again, but the speed remained unchanged. Please help.
Please update your post with the laptop specifications.
Check how the laptop is connected—wired or wireless?
Make sure only one network adapter is active, not both simultaneously.
On your laptop, open Task Manager and Resource Monitor.
Examine both tools individually for a few minutes, observing stability.
Afterward, restart Steam and repeat the process.
Begin a download and monitor the performance closely.
Focus on network behavior to spot any slowdowns.
Hello,
I posted something similar before about experiencing slowdowns in Fallout 4, but now it's on a different laptop. My game is stuttering roughly every 8 seconds, and I have more than 1000 mods installed. I'm curious if anyone knows the causes or mods that might be responsible.
My machine has an RTX 4080 GPU, a 14900k CPU, 32GB of 5600mhz RAM, and it's running at 1080p.
Thanks,

Change the wording while keeping the same length and structure.
Sorry but I'm unclear about the meaning of "sticking to one thread." Could you provide more context?
