the game isn't gaining experience points because you're adding too many free games, which caps the progress at 24.

Free games aren't included in your Steam XP earnings. You need to buy games or software or earn badges to accumulate Steam XP.

it displays 24 games owned, with only 8 purchased and the rest available for free, leading to confusion about the system and resulting in a score of 194 XP.

That's unclear. Could you provide more context or clarify what you're referring to?

Your account's game count doesn't matter; rewards come from purchasing items or interacting with Steam's marketplace.

This fixation on steam levels seems unnecessary because it doesn't actually improve the outcome.

A few players have reached level 200 XP, meaning there are at least ten strong ones. This should allow for an artwork to be included. Is the 200 level version modified or hacked?

You'll need to invest money to earn XP. Those who reach that stage usually purchase a lot of games or, more accurately, collect trading cards to create badges—XP comes from those. Since playing a game only provides half the cards needed for a badge (and you can duplicate them), it becomes clear how this works: people trade on the marketplace to sell duplicates and buy cards they lack, so they can progress. If you're frustrated by low levels and want to bypass that, try getting free games with trading cards, play them until you have half the required cards, then trade those cards from one game to another to cover the missing ones until you can craft the badges. Keep repeating this process. Alternatively, skip the social media side of Steam and focus on your progress.

The art aspect is the sole factor that matters for Steam status... It took me about a year or two. You can just play games and meet the requirements occasionally. I didn’t do any trades or anything (though maybe I bought one trading card).

The steam level, aside from a few tweaks, doesn't really matter much... I used to think it was just something folks do out of boredom... Mostly true!? But maybe I'm mistaken 😄
