I chose to build a budget-friendly PC with a single-core Celeron CPU and a GT420 2GB DDR3 but Steam refused to launch. To avoid costs, I opted for Linux Mint 32-bit, which was familiar and free. I wanted to test performance but Steam still wouldn’t open. I managed to get the Linux version of Steam installed, though it didn’t launch properly.
Consider installing it via the terminal or through Ubuntu’s app store. It’s likely it lacks certain libraries.
