The SSD stops working when it's under stress or heavy usage.
I purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 with a Ryzen 5 5600H and RTX 3050 Ti about a year ago. It came with only a 256GB SSD, which isn’t sufficient for my needs. The manual mentioned an additional NVMe port, so I upgraded to a 4TB WD SSD from MicroCenter. After installing and formatting it, I created a path for the drive, but whenever I run it for more than about a minute, it just stops. The SSD works fine externally and in my PC, but not on my laptop. LDK what I’m doing wrong 20230609_191649.jpg
If temperatures rise faster than the system can cool itself, it may stop working. I think they should use a heat pad that fits the chassis, similar to what the main SSD uses. Alternatively, switching to a 2.5" SATA SSD could provide more space without overheating issues.
