I received this MacBook from my aunt. I used alcohol on a q-tip to clean some pins outside the terminal. I couldn't reach the inside, so I let it dry for a few minutes, then inserted the SSD and tried again. First, I booted into Apple Recovery, but the drive didn’t register properly—it was showing up but not recognized. When I tried to format it, it froze and crashed before restarting. After that, I booted back into Recovery and changed to Basic OS. I force-closed the laptop and removed the SSD, which showed slight damage. I’m looking for advice on removing corrosion from an electronic motherboard and terminals. I’m on a tight budget and can’t afford professional repair right now, but I hope someone can help later.
