OS - Windows 10 CPU - AMD RYZEN 5 56OOX MB - MSI B550-A PRO AM4 (LATEST BIOS AND CHIPSET) RAM - HyperX Fury DDR4)2x8GB) Dual channel @ 1199MHz (17-17-17-39) I purchased a 3200MHz CL16 but encountering blue screen when enabling XMP. It doesn’t bother me much as long as it functions; I haven’t had time to resolve it yet, and the issue stopped with my XMP feature last year—not something I want to fix now. GPU - AMD RADEON RX 6700 – sometimes only reaches 30% GPU utilization (unlikely CPU bottleneck). This could become an issue later. Storage - 1TB APPLE HDD ST1000DM003 (SATA) – 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD Western Digital WDC WDS500G2B0C-00PXH0 (Unknown). When I first installed the SSD, I faced this problem, but I managed to work around it using old methods from YouTube. As a software engineering student, I require Linux Ubuntu for the frameworks and technologies I’ll use. To set up dual booting Windows and Linux, I need to switch my BIOS firmware from legacy to UEFI. I’ve tried various troubleshooting steps (full list below), but nothing resolved it. I’ve: Reseated components except the CPU. Updated BIOS and chipset. Changed SATA mode to AHCI, switched to RAID. Used RAIDXpert2 utility: Controller management – changed RAID 0 to 1. Array management – unable to create arrays, only delete and manage them. I haven’t deleted any arrays because I don’t want to remove anything. In array management, I tried everything but can’t recall all changes. I’m not very comfortable with BIOS details, though I think I grasp the basics. I’ve spent a lot of time experimenting. If you have any advice or resources that could help, it would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if there’s anything specific to try next. Best regards. (My Speccy is attached; my shi is messed).
The system is referencing whether the drive employs a GPT or MBR partition table.
The SSD (C: drive) is currently operating at the master boot record level.
