Hi, your M.2 Kingston 2TB SSD stopped working unexpectedly. One day you were playing and suddenly the PC went black, entering BIOS without any progress. After some investigation, it seems the boot device section shows nothing. You tried swapping the SSD port on the motherboard but had no luck. Need advice on next steps.

Hi, it seems unusual for an SSD to fail completely without warning. Have you confirmed the power supply is connected to the drive? Also, could you test the disk on a different computer?

Is the bios able to recognize the drive? I’d follow the advice from @Santorrr since there are effective actions to take. If you’re interested, you can also boot into a bootable utility like this one—https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/crystaldiskinfo_portable—to perform health checks on your installed drives.

Typically SSD failure shows up when the firmware stops working, causing the drive to enter a "busy state" or safe mode. It won’t reach a ready condition where the system can recognize it. Recovery chances depend on the specific model, controller, and hardware health—data might still be salvageable if both CPU and flash remain functional, but usually requires specialized tools. If you moved the SSD to another M.2 slot on the same board and it’s still missing, consider swapping in a different M.2 card or transferring the drive to another system. The problem could also lie with the motherboard or processor. I recommend re-seating everything, especially the power connections, as a simple fix might resolve the issue.
