Hello! It's great to connect with fellow users here. I recently bought a Neo G9 monitor from Samsung and switched from a dual setup of a 34" QHD HP and a 27" Spectre. Previously, I could play games at full settings on the HP and stream YouTube in high quality without any problems. I expected the Neo G9 to be powerful, but running fullscreen games felt smooth. However, switching between YouTube and in-game made things slow, especially above 720p. At first, I considered upgrading my CPU, but lowering the game graphics resolved the issue completely. This led me to suspect the GPU might be the main bottleneck. Since I'm new to PC building, any advice would be really helpful. Here are my current details: Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM at 3200MHz, AMD RX 5600XT B550AM motherboard. Also, the board is an older prebuilt model—how can I verify compatibility with newer CPUs or GPUs?

The 5600XT performs adequately but feels outdated for 2023, being essentially a 1080p card. Your system’s power supply will play a key role in deciding how much you can upgrade without needing a new GPU.

I also recently purchased a Neo G8 and am using a dual-screen configuration with a Samsung 27-inch 1080p 240Hz monitor. My 5800x3d 16GB 3000MHz 3070 Ti B550 motherboard still feels tight—especially when streaming YouTube or playing games on the G9, which often causes stuttering. Getting this monitor is pushing me to think about upgrading my GPU, since I enjoy fine-tuning the settings.

It seems my new setup is functioning better than expected. The power supply was prebuilt and came in a 550W package, which I installed without taking apart the rig. I’m considering upgrading the GPU soon, so I’m wondering if the motherboard would also need an upgrade to support it.

The motherboard shouldn't interfere with GPU compatibility. With a 550W power supply, you still have flexibility for upgrades. For instance, the 6700XT suggests using a 550W unit for the entire setup. If you aim for higher performance, consider replacing the PSU as well.
