I'm dealing with a Miktrotik CSS326 and a CRS305 connected via a 10gb fiber link. It's been running smoothly since January, but starting yesterday the connection dropped. I can still access each switch using devices on their sides, but data transfer between switches only works temporarily by switching SFP+ ports—usually for just a couple of minutes. I've spent about seven hours trying to resolve this issue.

Are there more transcivers to try? It looks like they're running low.

I own various modes but operate a single-mode line. The transceivers failing seems odd since they're only three months old. EDIT: They appear correctly in both switches too.

Essentially every electronic component has a chance to malfunction unexpectedly, which isn't too surprising. Consider acquiring another set of single-mode converters.

I'll take it slow and see what else you'd like to do.

Verify temperatures to ensure it isn’t overheating. Probably best to use the models available, though they might not connect with SM cable.

The unit in CRS305 is 52°C, and in CSS326 it's 46°C. I'm not sure about the temperature limits needed for correct functioning.

Have you explored switching between RouterOS and SwOS to rule out a software problem? Also, consider testing with different optical connections and patch updates.

The CSS326 isn't supporting routerOS, while the CRS305 is running it. NOTED: I can't run SWoS on the CRS305 since it handles routing on my network, which I don't want to stop. Edited April 24, 2021 by Bean Cooling

Screw it, for now while I wait for new transceivers to arrive, i'm just going re-create my old setup by running ethernet from my wifi extender to my PC
