Just checked YouTube last night and suddenly a BSOD popped up. I looked into the cause using WhoCrashed, but when I opened the installer I got a different message. Most programs reported the same issue, except Firefox/Edge and iCUE worked, while some like 'Everything' did fine. The main problem is I can't run any installers, even .NET ones. I thought it might be related to .NET, but uninstalling through the control panel gave me different errors or nothing at all. Even with games installed, uninstalling via Apps and Features produced another error. I ran sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r but didn’t fix anything. This happened after a recent fresh install; Windows Update showed no new updates. I also tried using the creation media tool for repair, but it didn’t work either. My specs are: ASUS Z690-E motherboard, i7-12700k CPU, MSI RTX 4090 GPU.
What is the storage situation? Is there a malware scan available?
