Gigabyte H97 board paired with Xeon E3 1280V3 CPU, Gigabyte 980 32GB DDR3 SSD boot drive. Last night I shut down the system because of expected thunderstorms; the power failed for four hours and the machine was off when I woke up, but it started normally after I pressed a button. This morning I turned it on and it successfully booted, displaying a GIGABYTE BIOS interface with a blue background. After power cycling, it loops endlessly without entering the BIOS.

Sure, I share this now, then I manage to enter the BIOS again, and finally it starts up. This is why I have a 3900XT ready to swap in for the E3 1280V3, as soon as I can get fresh SATA SSDs installed. Go ahead and ignore this, I suppose.

To avoid boot loops, you can duplicate the main BIOS file onto the backup BIOS, ensuring they match exactly. I've experienced multiple boot loops with my Gigabyte LGA1155 motherboards in the past.

To reduce the chances of power interruptions, consider purchasing a UPS. Although it comes with a cost, it's significantly more affordable than replacing expensive computer parts. While a UPS may not maintain power for four hours during a blackout, there are software solutions that connect to the UPS and manage shutdowns or alerts when power is low. Enjoy your day!

Actually, I believe the issue was attempting to boot using the older BIOS (F1) instead of the newer one (F7). Once I'm back home, I'll examine how to transfer the BIOS from the main chip to the secondary. I have a UPS that lasts only 15-45 minutes before it fails. The most recent power cut began at 01:20 and continued until 09:12—much longer than my UPS's runtime. My server runs about 40 minutes on average, and it shuts down automatically when the UPS has just 5 minutes left. Last night I manually powered both systems down, hoping for another extended outage, but that didn't happen—ironically, the server board reacted by going off at that time. o.x
