Hello everyone, I recently purchased a new system: an Asus B450-F Gaming motherboard with a Ryzen 2600x, RTX 2070 graphics, DDR4 16GB RAM, M.2 240 SSH slots, and a Seagate 1TB HDD. The default BIOS detects the SSD but not the HDD. When I switch the M.2_1 slot to SATA56 in BIOS, only the HDD is recognized. I've also experimented with various Link modes, but the outcome remains consistent—either SSD or HDD. Additionally, I've read online that using an M2 chip can disable HDD functionality, though there seems to be a method to run both together. I'm seeking advice on how to make both devices work simultaneously.

Do you know that the board uses the same bandwidth for the top M.2 port and the SATA 5/6 ports? You can connect your hard drive to any of the remaining four ports.

Since your setup uses the SATA interface through an M.2 slot, it may be treating one of the SATA connections as if another is active. If inserting anything into that connection could cause problems, testing a different port might resolve the issue. It’s worth checking if the HDD works with another port to confirm compatibility.
