The second screen shuts down while streaming films with Firefox.
Hello everyone, I'm trying to resolve a problem while using Firefox to watch movies. Immediately after launching a streaming platform like Netflix or Prime Video, the second monitor's screen turns off. Regular YouTube videos work without issues, but YouTube movies cause the display to shut down. The Chrome browser doesn't have this problem at all. I've tried disabling Firefox's hardware accelerator, but it didn't help. Anyone know of a setting that could fix this? Or would you recommend another browser instead of Chrome? Thanks in advance.
Firefox can be a bit unpredictable with videos, I notice. I also use Edge and would suggest it if you're not too concerned about privacy risks, though you might still be interested because you use Firefox.
Brave is the top choice most users suggest. If it doesn’t work, try checking the connection cable going to your monitor. Streaming or rental platforms need DHCP support on both devices. I’m having trouble with an HDMI cable to my secondary screen, and video services won’t play in my setup. Could be the device is shutting off the display to meet DHCP rules—probably not certain.
