I've been facing this issue for some time now. Usually, turning off both monitors and plugging them back in resolves it. However, today it didn't work. The second monitor only shows a signal during the BIOS splash screen, and once the PC powers on, it displays "no signal." It seems like a software problem might be at play, since the splash screen indicates both the cable and adapter are functioning correctly.

Potential useful details:
- Operating system: Windows 11
- CPU: i7 14700K
- GPU: RX 6600
- RAM: 64 GB DDR5
- I’m aware the GPU is heavily mismatched with the CPU, but my main concern is a strong CPU and RAM for work, while a top-tier graphics card isn’t budget-friendly right now.
- Second monitor uses an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter; it worked before.
- Graphics drivers are up to date.
- The issue appears even with the same driver version that previously functioned well.
- Both monitors are connected via the graphics card, and I double-checked connections.
- Swapped cables, tried different ports, and changed adapters—still no success.

This is really frustrating! I’m hoping someone can offer a solution. I really value this community’s help.

Have you verified the Windows settings and confirmed it displays two monitors? -This seems unlikely but let’s proceed gradually before needing to swap components. -Next attempt using the cable without the adapter, then check if the issue persists. -We’ll isolate whether the problem lies with the adapter or the cable itself.

Hey! I verified in Windows, but the second monitor wasn't showing up. I fixed it by reinstalling an older display driver version, and I had to plug and unplug the monitors again. It seems a bit suspicious and just a quick fix. I wish I could find the root cause someday!

The splash screen appears on both displays when the monitor mode is configured as Duplicate in Windows Settings. This has occurred before.

I configured it as an extension today. When I powered on my computer, the issue repeated. I’m getting really frustrated! Maybe I should purchase a monitor with a DisplayPort port and stop dealing with this problem.

They doubt DisplayPort will resolve the issue. Confirm it remains active in Extend. Overall, it shouldn’t be too severe.

It might be a compatibility issue with your graphics card or possibly an operating system problem.

It could indicate an operating system issue if the dual-monitor configuration isn't set to Extend. Probably not related to the GPU.
