Hi, I own three displays – a main ultra-wide monitor, a portrait working monitor, and a third one discounted by 99%. This is my large TV, used mainly for movies. Previously I had more monitors and two 3GB GTX 1060 cards, but after upgrading my PC to an RTX 6700 XT, the setup changed. Now I have only these ultra-wide displays and switched to the RX 6700 XT. Occasionally the extended monitor shuts off completely and restarts in a second, but more often it just turns black without coming back. In Windows 10 I go to Settings → Display → Multiple Displays and click "Disconnect the display," then try to extend again (or choose Revert). This resolves the problem most of the time. It’s frustrating having to repeat this process several times a day. My specs are: AMD Ryzen 3900X, MSI B450, 32GB DDR RAM, 3200 MHz, RX 6700 XT, Windows 10 (all updates), latest Adrenalin drivers. I’ve tried several fixes: swapping DP cables, changing the card’s port, using DDU to remove and reinstall drivers from a download, and even testing in safe mode with a new internet cable. Nothing works consistently. I’m unsure if it’s a driver issue, a GPU problem, or something else. Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

The same issue occurs with my second monitor, especially when using high-power devices at home. I'm checking the newest motherboard BIOS, GPU bios, AMD chipset drivers, and GPU drivers. I've removed the old nVidia drivers via DDU.

Recent motherboard BIOS updates are available. I updated a few months back and tried to avoid overcomplicating things, as new versions are released regularly. On the MSI site, the latest BIOS listed is 7C02v3F dated 2022-08-12, while my model is 7C02v3D from 2022-04-20. I’m just a bit behind. Regarding GPU BIOS, I’m unsure how to check or update it. I received a card from a reputable manufacturer (likely a miner), but they recommend flashing the spatial BIOS for better mining performance. If that’s the case, I need to restore the original BIOS, though I wasn’t sure how to do that. The company selling my card included a warranty stating the BIOS was correct as received. I’m looking up online for ways to verify GPU BIOS versions and confirm if they match the factory settings. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. P.S.: In settings, I see: BIOS 113-D5121100-101. My RX 6700 XT is a reference design; MSI site lists it as https://www.msi.com/Graphics-Card/Radeon-RX-6700-XT-12G. On the MSI page, there’s support info but no details on proper BIOS versions. Latest AMD chipset drivers and GPU drivers are installed. I removed old NVIDIA drivers using DDU and completed the update. A minor observation: when trying to enter BIOS, it doesn’t appear at all—only shows up during Windows 10 boot screens. I had to disconnect secondary monitors and TVs, then reboot to see the main screen boot process. It seems the order of connected devices matters; perhaps only the primary display boots normally. I’ll test different port combinations to see which one triggers BIOS detection on my main screen. Home setup isn’t HDMI—it uses a DP port instead.

The most recent AGESA 1207 resolves the fTPM and USB device issues. AGESA 1206 wasn't a reliable or stable version for most users, though it performed better than 1203 and 1204. 1207 is almost perfect. If your GPU uses Powercolor, you can get more details via GPU-Z. https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?man...RX+6700+XT I'm unsure if Powercolor has released any BIOS updates for their cards—check the manufacturer's site for your model and download info. Make sure above 4G decoding and the Resizable Bar (Smart Access Memory) are enabled in your BIOS settings.

Your GPU appears to be a Powercolor model. It matches the AMD reference design closely, but MSI’s listing shows it as a boxed unit with a website presence. On TechPowerUp I found BIOS entries, though none match your MSI card—just two generic references. The MSI version is labeled Gaming and Mech, which doesn’t seem to be yours. This is the MSI model from their site. Check if above 4G decoding and Resizable Bar (Smart Access Memory) are enabled in your BIOS settings. They should be active. If not, adjust them.

I can see GPU-Z report same BIOS as TechPowerUp listing for RX 6700 XT reference model: So I guess my GPU BIOS is fine, not some miner one and computer company I got it told me correct. I will check and update MB BIOS now to latest one ... if that will help in any way. Other than that I have no ideas if problem persist.

The VGA BIOS is fine. Are you using the newest monitor drivers? Also, are other drivers up to date? (If unsure, consider checking the IOBit Driver Booster)

Do you rely on the most recent drivers for your monitors? I’m not sure which ones are required. You have a new curved LG ultrawide that hasn’t had any drivers yet—maybe Windows auto-installed if available. Your older HP LA2405wg monitor is quite old, possibly 15 years, and you haven’t installed any drivers for it either. I wasn’t aware monitors needed drivers at all. Other drivers seem to be the latest versions. (If unsure, check the IOBit Driver Booster.) It should be that Windows updates regularly. For the GPU, I manually updated it myself. I haven’t used any third-party driver tools before, as they often caused security problems. As you suggested, I’ll try the IOBit Driver Booster. Also, I plan to update my motherboard’s BIOS today—just need to document all settings beforehand, since the last BIOS change wiped everything and took me hours to adjust, especially the fan curves.

Review your Device Manager settings. It’s likely the system is displaying generic drivers for monitors. The correct list should list specific monitor models and have the right ICM color profiles applied. Missing proper monitor drivers can lead to display glitches, issues with freesync/gsync, color accuracy, text rendering, and brightness control. Identify your exact monitor model—whether ultrawide—and locate its dedicated driver on the manufacturer’s website. Here’s the relevant driver for the HP model you referenced: https://support.hp.com/hr-en/drivers/sel...or/3955381. You’ll need to select either Windows 7 or 8, as no newer versions exist for Windows 10 or 11.

I added the IOBit Driver Booster but noticed many outdated versions. Many need the "PRO" edition of IOBit... Most are unrelated—HID appears 6-7 times, Keyboard is mentioned five times, and Mouse too... I found one for AMD Video, though I confirmed my Adrenalin is up to date. It seems there isn’t a newer release, so it’s unclear why it flags them as outdated. Still, since it’s in the PRO tier, updating via this tool isn’t possible. I’ll update others just to be safe...
