I’m just starting with PC building and disassembled an old HP Pavilion desktop. After cleaning it, I noticed the fans and power supply only worked when the CPU wasn’t seated, even if the 4-pin power supply was connected to the motherboard. It’s a Willow 2 board with an R7 CPU. Someone can help me figure this out.

I understand it’s a frustrating attempt, but removing the CPU and connecting the power supply activates the fans, while placing it back stops them, even affecting the power supply. I’ve tested with just the power source, motherboard, and CPU, as well as all connections. I think I reset the CMOS and swapped the battery.
