The main issue is the whole PC going black and fans spiking up to maximum during gameplay, especially in games like Elden Ring. I've replaced parts such as the GPU and power supply, but it only works when both screens are connected and usually takes around 15 minutes after playing. Removing one screen stops the problem completely. Running modded Minecraft with both screens active seems fine, suggesting it's mainly affected by high graphics settings. I'm worried about losing my PC for 2-3 weeks if I need to return it, so I want to be sure before making any changes. Current specs: MAG B550 TOMAHAWK AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, 3801 MHz, 7900XT 20GB RAM, RM1000. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Check if your CPU or GPU is getting too hot and look for any alerts in the Event Viewer.

You might want to use ddu to remove your GPU drivers, then reinstall them and verify that all other drivers are current. Additionally, consider running memtest86 to test your RAM and ensure there’s no overheating issue.

I updated my drivers with ddu and reinstalled them, then tried running memtest86 but unfortunately it didn’t help.

I’m not sure about the temperatures on the GPU. It’s unclear how to check them just before a crash, and I don’t think the CPU is involved since it wouldn’t show up after a reboot.

I managed to simulate the crash using only one display. By changing my graphics card to HYPR-RX mode through the AMD adrenaline app, it failed on a single screen.

Have the game displayed on one screen while the temperature monitoring app runs on another.
