My issue is that my computer experiences black screen episodes lasting about half a second, followed by recovery, occurring roughly every minute while I type. It sometimes disappears on its own, other times after a restart, and at other times it persists. This began with my GTX 3080, and I noticed it only occurred when the display was coming from the GPU, not the motherboard. I thought it was a GPU problem. I updated drivers, changed settings, but nothing resolved it. After replacing the card with an RTX 4080, the symptoms continued. I’m unsure what to do next without swapping components one at a time. Here’s my system setup: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 3600, Corsair RMx Series (2021), RM850x, 850W, GOLD, MSI MAG B660 Tomahawk Motherboard, Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 4080 16GB VENTUS 3X OC, Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB NVMe M.2, Windows 11, Dell S2721Q Display via Displayport.

I would separate components related to the problem:
- GPU (verify);
- DP cable (replace and see effect);
- Monitor (switch and observe);
- Monitor Power Supply cable;
- Monitor electric outlet;
- If necessary, keep digging further.

When your CPU reaches full usage on a single core, does the screen turn off? This happens on your 13600k with a 4060 chip, and it's quite bothersome. I'm trying to determine if the problem lies with the driver or if voltage limits are being applied by the motherboard.

It seems the problem isn't with the DisplayPort cable, power cord, cable itself, or the electrical outlet, since all are present when connected to the motherboard without issues. The concern lies elsewhere. If it's related to the power supply or motherboard, you could try swapping them to test. However, if you're unsure, opening the task manager and monitoring usage before it crashes might help identify the cause.

I might attempt to operate at a very low resolution (as your onboard supports). Could your GPU be exceeding the resolution, speed, or any specifications that your monitor can't handle properly?
