The screen occasionally flickers during use, especially while gaming or streaming. I own an ASUS RTX 4080 TUF on a Samsung G5 34, but it doesn’t show any startup indicator. Once it starts, it often stays on without shutting down unless I power the PC off and on again. I've changed cables, updated drivers, and tried resetting the GPU port, but nothing seems to fix it. The issue appears unusual (IMG_0698.mov). Any advice would be appreciated.

It seems the issue might be related to your GPU, as similar problems have occurred before. I recommend checking different cables or ports for your PC and monitor. Consider using DDU to remove existing drivers and install the newest ones from NVIDIA. Be sure to disable your Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection during installation, as Windows might try to install an incompatible version. Make sure you have the driver ready beforehand if you choose to disable your network.

He will reach out regarding the GPU purchase, thanks for the quick reply! I’ll consider buying another cable and hope it works. What does DDU stand for? Since my other screen doesn’t flicker like this, I’m unsure if the GPU issue is related—maybe a full Windows reinstall could help?

DDU is short for Display Driver Uninstaller. I'm unsure if I'm allowed to post links here, but if you Google DDU and you find it from Wagnardsoft, then you're at the right place. It can help with the complete removal of GPU drivers in the event that something went wrong during an installation or if Windows Update broke something. If another Display is not showing this issue, it could very well be that particular display that's causing the issue. I might instead try using the cable and port on the GPU that your other display is using and see if your issues persist. And lastly, yeah you could absolutely try reinstalling Windows as well. I typically try to avoid this because of how much data people have, but if you take appropriate backups then you should be fine.

I attempted a different port on the GPU, but did you check the monitor as well? Also, with integrated graphics, consider using them.

Don't worry about the HDMI 2.1, I'll keep an eye out for it and give it a try!

The GPU remains unaffected by driver removal; it's simply taking out the Windows component that communicates with it. The GPU's firmware operates independently and isn't tied to any driver.

I believe I found the solution! Asus includes a tweaker in the BIOS for eco, normal, and extreme settings. I reset it back to default and didn’t encounter any problems last night. Thanks everyone for your assistance!
