The screen is displaying unstable visuals during gameplay.
Hello,
I’m dealing with a strange problem that’s really bothering me. Whenever I launch any game, the screen tends to flicker slightly—just a small change in brightness that’s hard to notice. I’ve tried recording it on my phone, but it doesn’t show up clearly. I’ve adjusted the Free-Sync settings, though I’m not sure what I’m doing or if it helps. The issue only appears when playing games, not during normal use or watching videos. My GPU driver is up-to-date, and I’ve reinstalled Windows without fixing anything.
Additionally, there’s a strange “ghosting” effect in certain titles like Rust and Dead by Daylight—objects seem to cast shadows or vanish briefly when I move, but disappear when I stand still. When I turn off Free-Sync, the monitor still displays it as active in the settings menu.
I’m not sure what’s causing these inconsistencies, especially since my system runs a Ryzen 5 2600 and has an RX 580 8GB card. It’s been going on for a while now, but it keeps getting worse. I’d really appreciate any advice or help from someone who understands.
Thanks in advance,

Thanks for your reply. I am currently using a HDMI cable from Sandstrom. I've also discovered something really, really, really weird. Every time I press the escape key on my keyboard in CS:GO, it does that weird flicker. I have no clue what is causing this.
It seems like pressing the ESC key causes a drop in both frame rate and monitor refresh rate. Could you clarify what you mean by "drop"? Is it a temporary glitch, a system response, or something else? Understanding the context might help explain why this happens.
I’ve identified the problem. I can detect a buzzing sound from the back of my PC without pressing any keys. When I press the ESC key, the noise changes in pitch. It looks like electrical interference might be the cause. I’ll investigate which device could be responsible!
When I shut down the game, the audio cue disappears entirely. But once I launch another game, the sound reappears. It seems like the problem might be with the GPU. I’ll try reinstalling it.
As I move the mouse, the strange electrical noise gets stronger, but disappears when I pause. It might be related to the motherboard, graphics card, or power supply unit. Could someone assist me with this?
