When I plug my PS3 gamepad into my laptop, everything works fine until I unpluck it, put the laptop to sleep or shut down. When I turn the computer back on and try to plug the controller in again, I have to uninstall the DS3 USB driver and reinstall it. What am I doing wrong?

which version is this? Is it 1.6 or 1.7? I'm looking at the links to figure this out - one here might be useful and that other one too.

It just won't turn back on again unless I restart everything from scratch.

I'm wondering if the base driver comes from 2015. It's been causing issues for several years now.
