You don’t repeat the same thread every few weeks. Just hit the 3600 and let your curiosity guide you. As I’ve mentioned before, this helps with minimums at every resolution and maximums at lower ones.

Oh, sorry about that. Just this part was a bit unclear. That upgrade sounds good! Do you also need an AIO for cooling?

I wouldn't go ahead unless you're sure your issues stem from it. My 1600 works, but it's slower than yours at 2600.
It's a decent improvement, though not revolutionary. You had higher performance when you bought the 2600 (8700k, 9700k), but you didn't, and the total cost of 2600 plus 3600 might exceed what you paid for the 8700k or 9700k.

I purchased that CPU in 2018; the cost is identical except for an additional $20. I was aware of it, which means a lot of money is being wasted now. Perhaps later I’ll sell the old one. "That money could be saved."

That's not what I meant, upgrading without proper planning is a mistake. Perhaps this time it will teach me something valuable for the next attempt.
