Hey everyone, I recently purchased a Ryzen 5950X CPU but it doesn’t boot properly. With four RAM sticks installed, it only works when two are in slots 1-2. If I swap them to slots 3-4, it fails completely. The machine powers on and spins the fans but nothing happens. Once I remove the RAM from slots 3-4, using one or two or both of them resolves the issue. I’ve tested each stick separately and confirmed they function correctly. When I reinstalled my older Ryzen 3700X, all four slots worked again. This only works with the 5950X installed. Anyone else facing this problem would be really grateful for advice? My setup includes an MSI X570 A Pro motherboard with updated BIOS, 7C37vHF1 (beta), 64GB RAM, 16GB EGA sticks (4 units) and a 700W PSU.

Check if overclocking is active in the BIOS. Review the memory specifications such as speed and latency. Consider reverting the BIOS if available, since it may resolve issues related to the beta version.

Hello, the specifications aren't rated for 3200MHz. It's currently operating at the standard 2133MHz. If you revert to BIOS, you won't be able to run the Ryzen 5950X because it couldn't boot with that CPU until the BIOS was updated to the latest version.

Recent BIOS versions are compatible with the Ryzen 5000 series, meaning the 7C37vHE should function properly with that processor.

Always reset the CMOS each time you switch RAM. Internal clock speeds vary significantly.

I support this idea that the problem might lie in the Beta BIOS. I’d reset CMOS and set up the newest non-Beta version, since Beta versions often have bugs and flashing one could resolve them—unless a specific patch is needed for the Beta release.

Asus didn't provide any updates for months, though a few were really good.

I understand... I'll download the bios right before the newest one, which is the beta version, to test it.

I updated my bios to the latest version before the beta release, but it hasn't worked yet. I'm thinking about getting two more 32GB RAM sticks so I can maintain my total of 64GB. It's really frustrating because my $400 investment in 16GB sticks is now worthless.

Did you ever fix this problem? You're facing the same issue with your 5950X and four G.Skill 3600 CL14 RAM sticks. When using two in the last two slots, it runs at 3400 MHz with DOCP, but with four it triggers a DRAM error LED and fails to POST.
