Just purchased a 3080 and am checking if my setup is sufficient
Ryzen 5 5600x
Gigabyte X570 Mobo
32gb ram at 3200 mhz
1tb nvme drive
Evga 850W GQ gold unit
Mostly for 1440P gaming

It should work well. It won't be top-tier gaming, but you'll have ample processing power based on your in-game settings and setup.

A quicker GPU always delivers better performance than a slower one, even when the CPU is constrained.
Higher clock speeds can slightly boost FPS limits, especially when running high refresh rates above 240FPS on lower resolutions like 1080p.
This happens because GPU demands grow with resolution, while game logic remains CPU-bound.
At 1440p, your setup should fully utilize the RTX 3080's capabilities.
You can verify this yourself: If FPS improves further when reducing to 1080p (for example, from 100 to 160), it suggests a GPU bottleneck.
If FPS remains consistent across resolutions (e.g., 300 to 320), likely there’s no such limitation.

I understand, since I mainly play in 1440P, there should probably be no major issues or very low amounts. And I tend to enjoy story games more.
