My computer won't start at 4.2ghz and 1.32v. I changed the voltage to 1.32v and set the multiplier to 42, but now it won't boot up. My setup is a Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite with these parts: Ryzen 5 3600 M9a cooler, Klevv bolt, 3600mhz processor, 16gb RAM, Zotac 1660 Super Amp FSP Hydro Pro, 650w power supply, and white case.

My computer won't start at 4.2ghz and 1.32v. I changed the voltage to 1.32v and set the multiplier to 42, but now it won't boot up. That's basically correct. Pushing your CPU to 4.3Ghz overclock might work, but it could also damage the life of your computer parts too much. You have to figure out if that extra speed is worth the risk. Usually, using PBO (Intel Power Op) will give you better or safer results. It lets the processor run a bit faster at normal tasks (like 3.9-4.1Ghz) when you're doing heavy work, but it holds its high speed longer before slowing down to save itself. PBO keeps the voltage and frequency in automatic mode so everything stays safe for the chip. But to get the most performance out of it, you really need a good cooling system...

Ummmmm... more volts! Give it what it needs to be stable then think about if you really want it or not. Also, just because you set the voltage to 1.32 doesn't mean those processor cores actually get that much power. Get HWInfo64 and check SVI2/TFN core voltage so you see exactly how much power your cores are getting.

Does having too much electricity hurt the processor, right now? I can actually make my computer go up to 4.2 ghz with 1.325 volts on it. Trying to push it to 4.3 ghz just isn't working for me 😅

This way, you can stay at that boosted level longer before slowing down on its own. Plus, since PBO lets you keep power and frequency in AUTO mode, the system automatically manages things so your CPU stays safe. However, good cooling is still very important if you want to get the most out of it because everything depends on how much room the heat has left.
