The Ryzen 3000 CPU stayed awake even when I used a desktop setup.
I noticed some unusual activity in AMD Ryzen Master for my Ryzen 3900x. With Chrome running a YouTube video, nine out of twelve available cores would enter sleep mode. However, when I closed everything and only used the desktop view, very few cores would go to sleep—most stayed active at around 200-300Mhz continuously.
In Zen 2, the processors feature a fresh power mode (CPP2) allowing complete sleep. Ryzen Master highlights this by displaying the word "Sleep" for the cores.
You're experiencing a problem where your Ryzen 5 3600 stops sleeping. You've already checked in the past and now it's not working. You might want to try restarting the system, checking for firmware updates, or ensuring proper cooling. If the issue persists, consider consulting the manufacturer's support resources.
