The Ryzen offers four cores at a higher price, while the G6400 provides two powerful cores but with greater performance. Decide based on your needs and budget.

They mostly compete in single core versus multicore scenarios. The Pentium excels in single core tasks, whereas the Ryzen performs better with multiple cores. The choice hinges on your intended use. For tasks requiring speed, the Ryzen is preferable.

Consider gaming options. You're already playing CS:GO and Valorant—what do you think about the G6400?

Yes, that would suit gaming better. Still, what's considered good depends a lot on the situation. Neither seems ideal for gaming performance.

The Pentium would be a better option for gaming, though it doesn't stand out much. It's acceptable with either model.

I wouldn't pick a dual-core processor this time anymore.

Get the 1200 and OC variants. Most fit well between 3.8GHz and 4.0GHz, and most boards handle OC easily. Avoid A-series chipsets; go with Ryzen instead. A B450 board unlocks upgrades for four generations.
