I've been experimenting with my 2200G for some time now and noticed it doesn't reach the advertised 3.70GHz even when Prime95 keeps the CPU at full load. The same goes for overclocking attempts—Task Manager shows the overclock applied, but the base clock stays stuck around 3.50GHz. I'm not sure what to do with this Gigabyte A320M-S2H running the latest F53 BIOS.
Consider alternative tools such as hwinfo or CPU Z for monitoring.
They provide the boost frequency in the standard clock configurations, which is helpful, but achieving further overclocks remains difficult. Both hwinfo and cpu-z indicate the processor stays below the base 3.5 frequency after applying an overclock.
I adjust the overclock via the BIOS, and once saved and restarted, the changes remain active. The Gigabyte BIOS sidebar still displays the CPU frequency as the overclock value.
A reliable way to ensure the OC is active is by testing it, using Cinebench to check performance, starting with a baseline and then comparing against a higher-end setup.
