Your 6700K works well for 100+fps in most AAA games, especially in esports. The 2070 super might be too much for 1080p at 144Hz, and once you hit 1440p, the GPU market will shift. I’d choose 1080p at 240Hz myself, since the extra sharpness of 1440p isn’t worth it unless you opt for a wider ultra 100-120Hz display. You could also consider a used RX 5700, which offers 80-90% of that performance, or a cheaper Vega 56/1070Ti if it’s significantly less expensive. The motherboard may support basic overclocking like BLCK or boost enhancements, but it will still run smoothly at stock settings.

Yes, you can't use it right now—it might cause some delays. After switching to 1440p, the GPU usage will rise, but that shouldn't be an issue. Also, the RX 5700 or 5700 XT would be a better option.
