Hey there! I switched my setup from an R5 1600 to a newer Zotac lineup. The upgrade went from R5 5600X with the GTX1070 and RTX 3060 Ti to the RTX 3060 Ti Twin Edge, paired with a GS800, a cooler, and a few other components. I didn’t do overclocking or any special settings, just kept things as normal.

Here are some notes: Avoid getting a Scythe Mugen for AMD chips. The seller didn’t have one, and it had issues even after modifications. I made a DIY fix using extra metal strips to secure the cooler better, which helped improve performance.

I also learned not to buy the Scythe Mugen for AM4 processors—it didn’t fit properly. Instead, I cut strips of metal and attached them between the cooler and the main bar, keeping everything tight. This worked well for me.

My GPU struggled with high temperatures during gaming. It hit a max of 85°C, and the hotspot reached 105°C. I had to try some fan mods—specifically removing the "icestorm2.0" cooler, which caused issues with cables getting stuck. So I bought extra fans, thermal pads, and new paste. The results were better: temperatures dropped noticeably after a few adjustments.

If you’re replacing thermal paste, aim for at least 1.5mm thickness. Also, if you’re doing this again, consider using thicker pads (around 0.75mm) for better contact.

I’m still testing the new GPU fans on the manual controls of my Pure Base 600. It seems to help a bit.

One more thing: I couldn’t get a VBIO update for my card until now. The teardown showed no major issues, but the BIOS was from early 2021. Zotac said it’s an OEM product and doesn’t support updates.

If you want to try re-enabling the GPU, you’ll need the correct SKU (ZT-A30610E-10M), a re-enabled VBIO, and flash the new ROM using nvflash. It could be a big help!

Let me know how it goes—hope you’re doing well too!

This setting is part of the BIOS on your motherboard, not related to your graphics card.

I turned all settings in the BIOS for rebar support (like 4G decoding and disabling Csm). I didn’t expect this, but it’s a X470 Prime Pro. It could be because it’s outdated—maybe the VBios isn’t updated since I couldn’t find the update tool.

X470 supports it, though the name isn't very descriptive. It seems a BIOS update might be required to enable SAM, as suggested by some online sources.

I’ll take a closer look, but I already updated the BIOS before the rig upgrade to make way for the Ryzen 5th generation. It seems BIOS version 6063 is now available—I can’t locate the download page on the ASUS website anymore (they’ve stopped supporting it). I found version 6063 after navigating through many broken links.
