The warranty situation with the old monitor is confusing. The serial number on the box doesn’t match the one from the previous unit, yet they ship it in a regular box with damaged packaging. The insulation material is broken and the power cord is outside a plastic bag. This strongly suggests they’re sending you a fake new monitor instead of a genuine replacement. It seems like they’re trying to mislead you, especially since the PG259QN isn’t available officially in Europe. It’s reasonable to feel deceived here. How should you handle this? Also, just to confirm, is this really the right subject for troubleshooting?

It’s listed as available in Europe, which makes me unsure what you’re referring to. Regarding the other issues, it seems either the team didn’t put much effort in, or you might be getting a counterfeit product. Try powering it on first to check if it functions properly.

Serial numbers are used to identify items, and they're different on every single one. The serial number would only be the same if they sent the same monitor back to you. My suspicion is this is a return from someone else that they refurbished and sent to you. The damaged packaging is probably a result of at least three trips through ground shipping.

You only needed to verify the serial code, huh? Sounds a bit suspicious, but I'm still getting the hang of packaging details. The sticker with the serial number on top might be a red flag.

They likely included a new serial number sticker over the original ASUS label. P.S.: I’m considering using both serial numbers on their site. I should be able to register the equipment.

I would definitely doubt this. It's likely the chassis from a different monitor was utilized, and the white label actually represents the identifier. Inquire with them and observe their response.

Since I’m not familiar with that business, the new "serial number" could just be an internal identifier added to the original to avoid any mistakes in their system by hiding it.
