Hello, I'm looking into which option controls the render distance in Battlefield 1. I want to play at the lowest settings but still have the render distance set to ultra. Also, are there separate settings for overall render distance or one that affects enemy visibility? Thanks ahead!

The render distance stays fixed regardless of changes, which affects game balance.

This claim is incorrect. The mesh quality setting affects how far your PC renders objects, but it doesn’t change the actual distance models appear. You notice this difference when using low quality settings and zooming in with close-up characters—higher quality still shows them clearly, while ultra quality makes them visible without needing to zoom. This effect is especially noticeable with fast-moving aircraft like jets or choppers.
