Many outdated LGA 2011 v3 servers are being reused from old hardware, which is why affordable Chinese motherboards are popping up online. As the next generation, the LGA 3647, is coming along, I’m curious about its timeline for becoming obsolete and being scrapped. The original socket was released in 2016, making it nearly eight years old now—considered quite outdated. If a budget version of the LGA 3647 board appears soon, I’d love to get my hands on it too. The Xeon W-3175X is great because it’s unlocked and has 28 cores, which is impressive. But right now I’m holding off, hoping for a better deal.

I would suggest waiting another 4 to 5 years. By then, most of the CPUs available at that time should be significantly faster than the LGA 3647 processor, making them less suitable for gaming.

LGA2011v3 enjoys widespread popularity in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. It serves as an affordable gaming option, typically costing between 20,000 to 30,000 rubles (227-340$). These products are commonly offered as bundles containing a motherboard, CPU, and RAM, with the most basic models starting around 9,000 rubles (102$) on official sites, and older versions even cheaper. While more powerful CPUs and alternatives exist, they tend to be pricier compared to what LGA2011v3 Xeons provide. The same trend applies to LGA3647.
