The Redmi Note 5 Pro is cycling through the same startup repeatedly.
I possess an RN5p purchased from China. It was using the global ROM for a while. Three months ago I bought it and everything was functioning properly. Last night I enabled USB debugging and attempted to install ADB, but I received "ABD is not a recognized command" on my PC. I suspected a problem with my computer, so I unplugged the phone and turned off USB debugging (I followed this guide: https://www.xda-developers.com/insta...s-macos-linux/). However, PowerShell was causing issues, making it hard to proceed past step 4. About 6 to 8 hours later, my phone's screen froze. I had to force restart it by holding the power button for 10 seconds. After that, it worked correctly, but then it froze again. It would loop indefinitely, never reaching the MI logo, sometimes showing the Android menu with three dots, but usually just staying stuck or freezing and rebooting. After roughly 15 reboots, I finally reached the lock screen and unlocked the phone, which functioned normally for about 30 minutes before freezing once more. This time it required even more reboots to get going. Now sometimes it fails to pass the lock screen entirely, just freezing and rebooting. Additional notes: I strongly suspect this boot loop isn’t due to ADB, since I never installed it on my device. I verified online that my phone runs the official international ROM (confirmed via the MI website). The bootloader is locked—though I unlocked the OEM setting for 5 seconds just to investigate, but that was over six weeks ago. Out of four attempts to restore normal operation, two times it froze while watching YouTube and two times when locked. My phone holds a lot of data, so I’d prefer not to lose everything. Running MIUI 10.0 would be ideal for getting things back to normal. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. It just turned on after I allowed OEM unlocking. I hope this makes it easier.
I've already attempted it, but it didn't function. I expected it wouldn't, yet I decided to try anyway.
