Earlier this week, a knowledgeable friend assembled a new PC for my school and gaming needs using parts found at good Black Friday deals. The initial boot was smooth, and we updated the BIOS without problems. After turning it off and restarting via BIOS, the system booted but displayed a red CPU indicator and no screen. A power cycle resolved the issue, allowing Windows to install without trouble. Now, whenever I shut down and attempt to boot again, the red CPU light persists and the display remains off. Restarting the PSU by reconnecting the power cable and toggling the switch seems to fix it, enabling normal startup. It would help to understand the root cause and whether adjustments can ensure a successful first boot. All components appear new, and I’m confident they’re properly installed. Today, I suspect a memory-related problem; I tried booting manually when the red light appeared, but it ran for over three hours before shutting down. I ended up turning it off with the power button. In BIOS, Fast Boot is disabled, and the Expo profile is set to Cl30 6000MHz. The CPU is 105W, PBO is enabled, and TJMax is at 85°C. Here are the details: motherboard ASRock X870 Steel Legend CPU, Ryzen 7 9700X cooler, Noctua NH-D15s RAM, G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo, CL30 6000MHz, 2x 16GB SSD, WD Black SN850X 1TB GPU, RTX 4060 Dual OC, case Fractal Design, Torrent White, TG Clear PSU, Seasonic Focus GX-750 ATX, 2024 model.

Possibly the power supply unit.
