The price of the RTX 30 series Ampere cards has fallen recently, but mainly for the most powerful GPUs. Regular and mid-range/low-end models are still selling well above their MSRP.

I'm holding off on an upgrade this season. As you said, we're still uncertain about the release MSRP of the ADA Lovelace cards, but I hope it won't be as high as the RTX 30 series, which were sold aggressively during the pandemic. Now the market is much better, though we can't predict what will come next.

Even TSMC's 4N process node that Nvidia plans to use for the RTX 40 series might be more expensive than previous generations, potentially raising the final cost. This is just my guess. I'm not sure how costly the TSMC 4N technology will be.

Additionally, all upcoming GPUs are expected to consume a lot of power—up to 600 W+ TBP according to rumors—and the flagship cards will be huge, with triple or quad slot designs. Plus, there will likely be three cooling fans on top of that, lol.

It's great to hear the gameplay is enjoyable. I liked the movie back then too. I'm planning to play the game now because the characters are familiar to me.

The initial discussions regarding the 4000 GPU power consumption were likely based on a Twitter post I believe. The specifications mentioned, though, have now been revised.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that article. It would be great if some of these next-gen GPUs will consume less power. Still we need to wait for final official specs.
