Assisted a friend in assembling a new computer using an MSI X570S Tomahawk MB. Everything proceeded smoothly except for headphones or simple twin speakers connected via the 3.5mm stereo jack. A five-speaker and subwoofer setup with three jacks failed to connect. No audio output was detected. Attempted to install Realtec Audio Utility from the website, but it redirected to the Microsoft Store, which displayed an error message, preventing downloads. The issue persisted across multiple devices, suggesting a problem on either Microsoft's or Realtec's side.

Realtek essentially stepped away from the audio software market. The main purpose of the 4080 audio chip was to function as a USB device, eliminating the need for drivers.

Realtek has largely stepped away from the audio utility market. The 4080 audio chip now functions as a USB device, eliminating the need for drivers. The MSI website driver is sufficient. For improved performance, consider using SPDIF or HDMI outputs for multichannel audio. Alternatively, look into third-party audio control utilities.
