I spent some time trying this setup. The card readers arrived and I connected them all into a 7-port USB3.0 hub... but it didn’t work, three failed, two couldn’t initialize... and they keep sending notifications every couple of seconds. I tested them out and managed to get three working on one hub, two on another, but the USB hard drive worked, and the last one connected via a USB port, though no hub worked at all. After several attempts it stabilized, and all five SD cards transferred to a 2TB USB stick at about 9MB per second (total 45MB/s). This high-speed gaming PC has its limits. Even with slower speeds, the transfer still took around an hour. I’m considering running three at once at 60MB/s or two at 90MB/s instead of trying to read all five together.

@9MB/s. Plus it’s very unreliable. I locked up my whole computer a few times. I need to try duplicating everything from the Windows 10 Pro side. Still no clear answer on what’s causing the speed drop—just a decline when the last drive finishes.

Hubs: Operated through host system USB or function independently?
Can you provide a basic diagram illustrating the hardware configuration and connections?
Include details such as make, models, ports, etc.
Keep it simple – just enough for a clear overview of the setup.
After that, take a scan or photo of your diagram and share it here via imgur (www.imgur.com > green "New post" icon).
Any discrepancies might be noticed.
Also:
"Locked up my whole computer several times."
Review the Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for any error codes recorded around the times of those lockups. Examine the technical information – it may or may not be useful.
