Earlier I started RDR2 installation, reaching around 86 GB out of 116 GB before I paused and didn’t restart. I resumed today (likely years later) and it jumped from 116 to 206 GB, nearly doubling in size. It still gets updates, but the file size doubling seems unusual. Could fixing the files help? Is the Rockstar launcher not accepting the old downloaded files? It confirms 86 GB were downloaded even though it hasn’t fully restarted.
A significant amount of caching will occur during downloads, but soon we'll notice real games needing massive storage. Get ready for the future of gaming! While quality has improved, file sizes haven't kept up.
That's great news! I'm impressed by how well RDR2 performs with its impressive 116GB requirement. The detailed animations, like for cutting steak, really enhance the experience. Thanks for the positive feedback!
I hope studios like Rockstar would allow us to get the single-player game separately. It's similar with GTA V—the base game is reasonably sized, but you're still required to download all of the online content unless you have no interest in it. Interestingly, they permit people to buy and download the standalone online version, though not the single-player one.
The current file size in Steam is 119.44Gb, which might indicate an issue with the r* launcher.
The RDO file isn't a complete package; it also includes RDR2, but you can't run it properly.
On your device, you have the option to buy and install the digital material separately.
This approach aligns better, since most single-player items will be utilized online. Online expansions, though, won’t appear in single-player modes, which is more bothersome.
