It seems suspicious if the system functioned before and you didn’t act unusually. But that’s not a major concern. Whether to upgrade or replace shouldn’t cause too much worry.

Something has shifted, what might be the reason behind it?

I believe the issue is poor handling. It seems the board could be outdated with possible errors over time. Only two RAM slots are available? Updated December 29, 2024 by leclod

I recall when I placed the RAM in the opposite orientation, leaving just one valve secured, then I powered it up and it overheated. Can the socket still accept new components?

You have only 2 Ram slots ? most boards have 4 If that's the case I'd try to bend back the 2 pins so that they make contact. Only try the board if the contacts look ok. But be aware you might fry another stick of Ram. Edited December 29, 2024 by leclod

pantesan rusak sampe kebakar kelihatanya kyk pin dlm slot ram nya bengkok jdnya paling bisa pake jarum untuk lurusin baru bisa pake lagi untuk ramnya 2gb skrg ada yg dibawah 20rb jdnya murah utk diganti tp sy rekomendasi up ke 4gb krn udah ada yg dibawah 40rb dan 8gb udah minimum agar ga nge lag klo pake browser krn ramnya penuh
