Hello, according to the title, my RAM is being allocated for use. The new RAM I added is not the original one, so 16GB is being set aside while 8GB remains available. I've tried using msconfig but it didn't help, and the BIOS didn't show any changes. I have the sticks in the correct order and mixing them doesn't make a difference. My specs include three 8GB EvoPotenza RAM sticks, an EVGA NVIDIA 1060 3GB, an Ax370M-DS3H Gigabyte motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with eight cores, a 64-bit OS, and Windows 10. I've confirmed it isn't using all the RAM and is reserving it—see Task Manager where it lists x/8GB and 16GB hardware reserved, and in properties it shows 24GB (7.5GB usable). The RAM speed is 2400MHz.

Begin with just two memory sticks in slots A2 and B2. Avoid using more than that. Got it. Thanks for the advice from @Mister Woof!

Revisit the instructions carefully. The manual doesn't mention any settings for 3 sticks of memory or forcing it into a single channel.

There’s no point in trying it since the hardware feels just as complex as the technical data we could study for running memory on an Intel architecture with six sticks. Why would you go through a seventh stick?

It doesn't matter which four random DDR4 chips you use; they're sufficient for testing the 2133 JEDEC standards. The OP didn't request performance optimization, just basic operation. You might search for "flex mode" to find more details.

I've tested with three memory modules (2x4GB and 1x8GB) for years and everything worked well. Three sticks should be sufficient.

Flex Mode... Intel's offering? Yeah, it's definitely worth checking. Running all four slots might be the way to go. Appreciate your input, Jurrunio.

Not everyone has the same exact experience as another and why there's such a thing a simple owners manual. lol. I get it I do. I've done 1 stick 6 sticks 3 sticks..... I get it. I've done all this before. People wonder why, it has been explained. I'm sorry if it doesn't apply to everyone...
