Hello everyone, I just installed some new RAM modules. A friend gave me two 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2600 and now I have two 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 plus two 8GB G-Skill Trident 3200. The issue is that I switched to XMP profile 2 at 3200 MHz, but Windows only sees 2133 MHz. I’m having trouble finding a fix online for this setup. My system: MSI B450-A Pro Max, Ryzen 7 2700X, RTX 3070. Thanks a lot!

The 2700x model can't handle mixed match memory beyond its maximum frequency of 2933mhz. You're pushing too much from it. Try 2933mhz and maybe you'll succeed.

In my experience, HWINFO64, ZenTimings and CPU-Z can accurately determine memory frequency. However, it seems the board is likely trying to boot with safe settings but failing to POST three times, resulting in a default 2133MHz boot. Consider testing at 2933MHz.

I'll attempt it later, though the issue is that the RAM stick part number indicates 3200 MHz (a friend had them for a year but upgraded, so I got his model) while my BIOS and CPU-Z display a different part number with 2400 MHz clock. Even though he used those sticks until yesterday at 3200 MHz.

Later I checked CPU-Z but the issue remains strange. It hasn’t stopped booting at any point. A friend suggested that maybe my motherboard, even though it has four slots, only connects to one memory controller. I don’t understand why... It’s just cheap now, and I really want to upgrade soon to a 5800x3d with much better RAM.

It doesn't require a reboot each time you press F9. The issue lies with the memory controller on your Ryzen CPU—it only has one memory controller with two channels. Running dual rank memory at 3200MHz is challenging, especially with matched RAM, and even lower speeds won’t work well. Your board should handle the 5800X3D, but a 5600 or 5700X would be more reliable. The 5800X3D is tough to recommend due to its high price, fewer cores, lower clock speed, and performance limitations compared to the 5700X. It's mainly a showcase for what’s coming in the Ryzen 7000 series.
